Caring for people with diabetes

For people living with diabetes the condition can impact on many areas of life with a wide range of complications that must be managed and monitored so that you can get the best out of life. This includes foot health, eye problems, gum disease among others. That’s why we are determined to make sure that every person with diabetes that needs to access care can do so.

Your GP

Your GP practice is open. Please call them if you need medical care or advice. Many appointments will take place virtually and where tests are necessary we will do our utmost to provide the care you need without risk to you.

Foot health

Foot care clinics across north east London are open and providing care. It is vital you don’t ignore cuts, blisters, burns or infections as this can lead to ulcers and amputations. Good foot care can dramatically reduce the possibility of complications. If you have concerns about your feet please contact your GP practice in the first instance stating that you are a diabetic with a foot concern.

Mental health

Mental health services are open and providing support. For people who living with diabetes you may need support with your emotional wellbeing and with the additional challenges faced right now it is vital you get the support you need to cope. Across north east London talking therapies are providing psychological therapies to anyone who requires support. This is taking place via digital and phone based therapy sessions. If you live in north east London and need support you can self-refer. Please contact the relevant service listed below.
