Zina Etheridge has officially started today (22 February) in the new role of Chief Executive Officer Designate of the Integrated Care Board (ICB) for north east London, which replaces NEL CCG from 1 July 2022. This role is also responsible for leading North East London Health and Care Partnership – the integrated care system (ICS) for NEL.
Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) are partnerships of health and care organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up services and to improve the health of people who live and work in their area. In her new role Zina will work with partners across the system and lead action to drive improved health outcomes for the people and communities living within north east London.
Zina joins NEL ICS from the London Borough of Haringey where she was Chief Executive from February 2017, and she has previously held senior roles in a number of government departments at a national and regional level.
She was also the lead local authority chief executive for the North Central London ICS and, as chair of London Councils’ Chief Executives Network, she coordinated many aspects of the local government response to Covid-19 across the capital. Read more about Zina’s previous experience here.
Zina’s appointment comes as NHS, local councils and community groups in north east London formalise their strong history of partnership working across health and social care. This partnership – known as an integrated care system or ICS – aims to ensure that the local population of more than two million people receive the care they need in an efficient, effective and joined up way.
